For those who have not noticed, I have only been postin
g every two weeks now. This is a manageable amount and I have been sticking to it very well. Today is my birthday! I am actually not a big fan of birthdays, but it made a good title. If history holds, there should be a major snow storm tonight! However, given the weather we have been having, I doubt that will happen this year. I hope everyone had a great holiday break. I was in P.E.I. for a visit with my family and it was a good, but quick, time. I also try not to put a big emphasis on the holidays because I think the world should have a holiday feel all year long.
Due to the holidays, I have not been as busy as normal and that has left lots of time to catch up with friends that were home from away, both here in Saint John and in Charlottetown. It also gave me time to do some handy work in the basement. They have told me they will be finished on January 5th. Finally, the flood happened on the 6th of November. Pretty much all that is left is new floors and a final painting and cleaning.
The week before the holidays I had a luncheon for my staff at the Mahogany Manor and attended the Holiday gatherings of several not-for-profit organizations in town. This past week I also met with Jane Barry from the Greater Saint John Community Foundation who is writing a Community Profile on FUSION Saint John Inc. so watch for it in the Telegraph Journal.

The rest of the time has been spent getting assignments completed for my management course and moving my work office uptown from the West side. I have no huge plans for the New Year either. Again, I am not big on celebrating it as I believe we should be celebrating life everyday and always working on resolutions to be better human beings. Please take some time this year to help out someone in need. However, if you are into celebrating, Happy New Year, and be sure to check out the fireworks on the boardwalk tonight at 8 P.M.
Upcoming event: there is a Many Faces of Violence 2007 Meeting coming up on January 4th at 1 P.M. at the Community Health Centre (116 Coburg Street) if you would like to get involved in this very worthwhile cause.
