Well, it has been 4 years since I have last blogged, but thought I would try to get back into the habit. I thought I should give everyone an update of what has happened over those 4 years to start, sort of the background.
I have changed jobs from managing within the Addictions and Mental Health field to the Extramural Program so still within Horizon Health Network. I have been in my present position for about 3 years now. I am still completing my Masters in Public Administration......I believe there are just 3 courses left (currently doing Program Evaluation).
I have moved to a new house, still in East Saint John but now on a nice Lake off of Loch Lomond Road. It is very peacful up here, yet close to many amenities.
I am still just as involved in the Saint John Community, although I am trying to do more things for just me as well :-) Some groups I spend a lot of time with are PRO Kids, BCAPI, United Way, Greater Saint John Community Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters. I actually have a Little Borther now and it has been a great experience to date. They are short on male volunteers so I would highly recommend you males to get involved. Alot of children in our City require this experience.
Some personal hobbies I have taken up include piano, flying, golfing, canoeing, and drawing. I would highly recommend the Saint John Flying Club (website under construction) to anyone wanting to get their pilot's license.
So, enough about me, what is my bloggin going to be about? Well, you can look back through some of my previo
us ones to get an idea. I would like to continue to focus on social issues as this is a passion of mine. Some topics of late include inclusion, bullying, addiction, poverty, etc. Of course, mixed within will be thoughts on how these social ills mix and mingle with politics and community. I welcome any ideas and any feedback people wish to offer. After all, these are simply my views on some very pressing issues. Essentially I will make a post as required, which usually means when I feel really strong about something I read or heard :-)
